The Poachers Inn, Bollington is our branch Cider Pub of the Year
A glass of real cider or perry is a great way to quench a thirst in summer, or indeed, at any time of year. CAMRA celebrates the tradition of natural cider made from cider apples or perry made from perry pears. We believe this quality product is far superior to some other drinks that may be made from concentrate or sugars from other sources and come with added gas.
So what makes a good cider and perry pub? A pub that always has at least one real cider or perry served at a good temperature and tasting good.
Each CAMRA branch chooses a cider and perry pub of the year. For many years The Poachers in Bollington has served a selection of two or three and sometimes more natural ciders and perries. They are always refreshing.
Come and join us at lunchtime on Saturday 20th July for the presentation of our branch award. If you don’t drink cider or perry come and try one. Not temped? That doesn’t matter as the beer at The Poachers is very good too.
The pub is easily reached by bus with the #10 bus from Macclesfield terminating a couple hundred down Ingesley road and the 392 Macclesfield-Stockport bus passing the same place opposite the Cotton Tree (last year’s winner!)
