RedWillow, Macclesfield is branch Cider Pub of the Year
Many of you will know CAMRA supports traditional cider and perry making as well as brewing of traditional cask ale and the pubs and clubs where we can enjoy them. Cider and perry are regarded as fine apple and perry wines by many.
One of our CAMRA branch’s most enjoyable tasks is presenting our annual cider and perry pub of the year award. In 2026 our choice is RedWillow on Park Green, Macclesfield where we find two or three boxes of still cider plus a Hogan’s cider on keg and a good selection of bottled ciders in the fridge. Plenty to choose from whether your taste is dry, medium or sweet.
RedWillow hosts regular events, a recent one being a well-attended cider, perry and cheese evening featuring drinks from Ross-on-Wye paired with a surprisingly interesting choice of cheeses from a local cheese-monger.
RedWillow is also well known for its beers brewed under half a mile away. With at least four cask beers to choose from, often more, and occasional guests. Look out for the one-off Faithless brews, a series now we’ll into the 200s.
