Malt Disley is 25/26 Branch Winter Pub of the Season
Established by mother and daughter Di and Lauren Booth during 2017 in a converted shop Malt Disley quickly became an established part of the village pub scene and added a new perspective and additional beer choice to the existing established and successful pubs in Disley village centre. This vibrant and friendly pub is located on the main A6 in the village centre and has been a regular in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide since 2019, it was also voted CAMRA branch Pub of the Year in 2020 and Regional Cheshire Pub of the Year in 2021.
In addition to the usual in-pub events, including live music, quizzes, comedy nights etc. the pub is also the centre of larger outdoor community events throughout the year. These involve collaborations with other local pubs and businesses and include the annual Octoberfest celebrations and their first Sausage & Cider festival earlier this year.
The bar area itself is fairly spacious for a micropub and the pub also includes a downstairs room, which now converts into a games room, and is used regularly by several local groups and societies. Four cask beers, often from local micro breweries, are available and often include a dark beer. Ten fonts also serve a variety of keg and key-keg beers (including Budweiser Budvar, Dortmunder Union, plus several changing British beers and a cider); a range of British and continental bottled beers are also on offer to drink in or take away, and the current beers available can be found on the ‘Untappd’ App. Coffees (using beans roasted by Peak Bean at nearby Furness Vale) are available in addition to cakes and snacks.
We will be presenting the Award as part of a wander round Disley on February 26th 2026. More details to follow.
